National Volunteer Month – Volunteer All Star 2020
Our second undeniable volunteer all star for 2020 has volunteered as a committee member, a leader for our Restaurant team, a fundraiser for the Friendship Bowl, and has even brought more and more friends into the Walk With Sally community as an ambassador. This next Volunteer All Star for 2020 is….Carrie Davidson!
Over her 3+ years with Walk With Sally Carrie has donated more than 125 hours volunteering with us. Whether it was selling opportunity drawing entries at a pop-up sale, or leading our culinary team of volunteers and vendors at White Light White Night, she’s always doing it with a smile and her welcoming Texan accent. This year she took her involvement even one step further and joined the fundraising team “Lucky Charms” for this year’s Friendship Bowl raising over $1000.
Thank you Carrie! We love seeing you at our events, whether you’re volunteering or just mingling, you always bring a bright light to our community. Thanks for being an incredibly dedicated volunteer!

Right now, during this coronavirus crisis, it’s more important than ever for children to have positive relationships they can connect with.
- Sustained, positive relationships with caring adults can help mitigate the harmful effects of childhood trauma, like depression or cardiovascular disease.
- All the kids in our program have already endured the trauma of seeing a close family member battle cancer, this new crisis and dramatic shift due social distancing and isolation will only serve to exacerbate these harmful effects.
By connecting with a child and becoming a mentor, YOU can be the difference for a child who has had their world turned upside down for a second time in their short lives.
Fill our our volunteer form to let us know if you’d like to become a mentor, or help in another way, and someone will get in touch with you right away!
