Event Highlights
White Light White Night 2008 Lots of Love and white light was in the air at Walk With Sally's 2nd Annual White Light White Night event on June 28, 2008 at the backlot New York stage. A very special thanks to Maureen McBride of Tabula Rasa, Raleighs Studios, HOWS Market, BMW, Equinox and Shotgun HoneyMoon for making this event possible. The helping hands of so many volunteers including WWS Event Committee, BMW and Equinox volunteers made White Light White Night an extraordinary experience for all. The proceeds will create 20 new Friendships this year! Thank YOU a million for making a difference in the lives of the kids!
White Light White Night Shed Brightness on All... On Thursday, 5/3/07, Tabula Rasa Essentials and Hush Hush Hair Salon hosted a dazzling all-white event at the Hush Hush Salon on Manhattan Ave. More than 150 supporters attended the event raising more than $12,000 dollars benefiting Walk With Sally's mentoring program and family resource program. The event was lovingly named "White Light" to honor all the people in our lives that need white healing and hope through the power of visualization and thought. During the event, Nick Arquette, asked everyone to think of someone fighting cancer and visualize that person surrounded with white light...It was truly a very special moment in time honoring the moms and dad's coping with cancer....today and everyday. Addtionally, the highlight of the evening was sharing small stories of the Walk With Sally children - their own transformation and growth through a beautiful slide show presentation of pictures taken during Shear Scoop. A Day at Disney! Walk With Sally enjoyed a fun filled day at Disneyland on Saturday, March 24, 2007. All the Walk With Sally Friendships enjoyed the rides from Space Mountain to It's a Small World. The smiles on the faces of each child was priceless. For many Walk With Sally kids, visiting Disneyland was a first time experience - an experience that will stay in their hearts forever. Go Italian! Saturday, March 17, 2007 Walk With Sally does it again! With support from Matteo's Restaurant (www.matteosla.com) and Amy Chambers (event chair), the friends, supporters and donors of Walk With Sally gathered together to celeberate the best volunteers of the year. The Star Shine award was presented to Michele McRae for her dedication, support and outstanding volunteer service in 2006. The evening was graced by a performance from Celeste Prince. Special thanks to our new community partners who donated gifts for the raffle such as Lawry's Prime Rib, Neutragena and the Stinking Rose in Los Angeles. VERY special thanks to Greg McNally, Art Brown, LeAnne Bell and the entire management team at Matteo's Restaurant.
